Temporarily skip a tracker
When circumstances do not allow me to perform task I would like to have it turned off temporarily. For example I am out of home and task is about cleaning up home.
Thanks to that I would not be troubled by reminders and it would not count to task statistics.
Thanks for your feedback on the skip feature for Strides. We just released a huge update that I think you’ll like…
New features: Skip and Due After Goal Met! Sometimes there’s a legitimate reason you can’t do your habit (like when you’re sick) or log one of your goals (it’s tough to log your weight when you stay in a hotel room with no scale). Now, you can swipe left and tap Skip so that tracker won’t count for the day! It won’t affect your Perfect Day, and none of its stats will consider the skipped date, including Reports.
For habits, you can also long-press a date in the calendar chart to log yes, log no or skip. For weekly/monthly habits, you can also enable the new Due After Goal Met option if you want to be encouraged to keep doing the habit after the goal has been met. By default a habit is hidden for the rest of the week/month after the goal is reached, but with this option you can keep seeing it, and skip without penalty if you don’t want to be an overachiever. :)
This update also improved the habit add log view, and added log yes, log no and skip options when long-pressing a habit calendar date. This update also made it easier to tell which date is selected in the calendar, and comes with several fixes.
Enjoy!

Same goal, but adjustable metrics per day. Some days I plan to only workout once opposed to twice, some days im traveling for work and dont want to enter in 0 rather a skip option

Also, when on vacation we may want to pause some of our goals. A skip button allows us to intentionally skip without adverse affect on our numbers

If one day due to busy schedule I am unable to do a task, please add a skip feature. This will not break the streak and on calendar it may show as half circle.

This would be a great feature to have as we start moving into a post-pandemic world! Certain routines for me are based off of workday tasks and it would be great to pause them (especially in advance!) while I'm away on vacation.

The current binary of yes or no puts you in a rough spot when illness or injury prevents you from performing a task or goal for the day. A rest/recovery/sick day option allows you to maintain your stride on such days without having to mark a goal or task as done when you didn’t actually do it.

Couldn’t agree more. Many of my goals are work- or equipment-related. When I’m not at work or temporarily don’t have access to the equipment I need to be able to skip.

This would be awesome! Hated that my cleaning strides were left undone because I was out of town. Also after a bad fall I was unable to complete many strides, just another reminder of all I couldn’t do during this time. It was very frustrating.

This would be especially helpful for someone like me who suffers from chronic health issues. It would be good to ‘pause’ something because I’m essentially too sick to do it - it perpetuates negative feedback when chronically ill people feel like they’re failing at their goals and don’t have an option to pause goals when our bodies aren’t cooperating. This feature would help anyone going through acute illness or dealing with bereavement or disruptive travel.

Another tracker I used had a “skip” option for this. Neither yes or no when something is “skipped.” My workaround with this app is to change my # of days in a time frame, tho that requires me to ration skip days in advance.

Yes!!!! Omg please add this. I get the factor of the app of staying on top of things but I’m genuinely honest if I do a habit or not. I want and need a pause option so bad! And by the way, thanks for creating such an amazing app.

+3 here for a vacation mode with the ability to select which trackers to pause and for how long

Can we please get a feature where I could mark a day as a vacation day and I don’t get dinged for not doing well?

I agree with this as well. Another habit tracker I tried had this feature and it was great. I would like to be able to “skip” days of a habit if it is something, like other people have mentioned, that I can only do at my home, but I go out of town. I didn’t actually do the habit that day, so I don’t want to say that I did, but it shouldn’t count against my streak. Please and thank you!!

Yes, please. I can’t take my piano on vacation, and I can’t do a workout when I’m sick. You should be able to pause a habit for a while, keeping the streak count.

Suggestion for a workaround: substitute the specific behaviour for something equivalent and thus keep the habit itself going in terms of “casting votes for the kind of person you want to become” (James Clear)

This is so fundamental

I agree with everyone here!
A lot of my goals have to do with class or work. We have vacations or weeks between semesters and would love to be able to turn it off. I don’t want to delete my tracker either but there’s no way to stop them. What if I’ve already hit my goal?
