Thanks for reaching out! The Target tracker was built for this type of goal, but if you'd prefer not to log with the number pad for this situation the best solution I can think of with the current setup would be to scale the goal up to a longer time period.
For example, if you want to do something 1 time per day, but you want to be motivated by making progress over time, you could change the goal to 30 times per month or even 365 times per year.
That way, the Progress Report will gradually fill up throughout the time period you choose to keep you motivated to stay on track like the Target tracker.
Hope that helps! I'll keep an eye on this idea to see if anyone else wants a separate feature for this.

Covering this feature in two parts:
1. Group by Tag: Just released! The Progress Report can now be viewed with each tag in its own table with the Group by Tag option in the Filters view. This makes it easier to see how you're doing on big picture goals you're tracking with multiple sub-goals, high-level values or areas of life, like health, relationships, home or finances. Each tag has its own group go trackers with an Average Progress value and X/Y on track reporting. Tap a tag's header to collapse the table to quickly see them all.
2. Milestone Subtasks: Coming soon. This will allow you to create a big goal as a Project tracker, break it down into milestones, then break those milestones down into subtasks, small steps you can take to make progress on your goal.
Enjoy Group by Tag. Can't wait for Milestone Subtasks to be released!

An error occurred while saving the comment Thanks for all the feedback! The Tags & Filters feature was built to make it easy to group habit/goal trackers together as part of larger goals.
For example, you can create a Tag, which can be worded as an area of life, like "Health", or as a high-level goal like "Get Healthy".
Then, assign that tag/goal to all of its trackers, which allows you to filter your reports to focus on that goal and see how you're doing on all of them in one place.
If you have any other ideas for how a similar feature separate from tags and filters could work, please share them by adding a new feature request. Thanks!

@Carl: I added this idea in November. There are votes and comments showing from years ago for this because I merged some related ideas that were created a long time ago, but were unpopular so they weren't a priority. With all of them merged together, and with the popularity of this new idea, it's now in the top 5 by votes, so it's much higher on our list now. We're planning to build this new tracker type after a quick Focus Timer feature, Progress Reports and some sync optimization on iOS.

Now that there have been some major improvements to iCloud that make sharing data with other users simpler, the plan is to implement them after Apple Health integration is launched so we can start building the Accountability feature.

That's exactly what we're planning on! :)

This is an interesting twist! I'm planning to cover a couple similar features in other ways, in addition to using Tags to create a similar setup on the Reports tab like people do currently, but I'll keep this as a separate idea since it's a different approach with automatically completing a habit when other habits under it are done. Thanks!
