  1. Have to option to disable project end date.

Not all tracked projects require an end date. They can be open-ended. As such it would be nice to just have a 'open' project that one can complete without worrying about timer running out (obviously I'm aware I can set the date way in to the future)

  2. A referral plan!

Invite a certain amount of people to the platform and you could potentially receive like a month or something for plus version for free.. I have a lot of friends I would love to refer to this program and already have started telling others! I think it’d be even better incentive to let people recieve more potentially for free

  3. Average: Move to Done when Goal is reached

I noticed when setting up a habit like "Push-Ups" that if I have a daily goal of say 100, and I log 20 push-ups, then the task is considered as "Done" even though I haven't reached my goal. The same is reflected on the iOS 14 widget. Isn't this a bug? Shouldn't the habit only be considered as Done when I reach my goal of 100?

Thanks for reaching out! This is not a bug because most Average Per Day goals are only logged once (e.g Sleep) but I totally understand where you’re coming from. So, I’m thinking through a new field called Move to Done that could have a When Goal is Met option for these scenarios. We have to get through a few more updates before we could add this, but I’m planning to add it when we’re able.

In the meantime, if you log less than your goal for the day you can always swipe right or tap the log icon while it’s in the Done section and tap Add New Log. The app will automatically add all the day’s logs up for you.

Hope that helps. Best of luck with all your goals & habits!

  4. Color theme options

The blue is a bit too much especially on the widget. Could premium subscribers get a few options to change the color theme?

  5. Enable Launcher / inter-app linking

I’d like the ability to add a link/URL within a habit (or a target app) that I could trigger from within Strides — for instance to trigger a Shortcut, open a separate checklist, my calendar, or fitness app.

  6. Keep “Done” Habits in Today View

I’d like an option where “done” habits are kept in the Today view even after the goal number is reached. Eg. Right now, if I have a goal to read 2 times a week, that habit disappears from Today view for the rest of the week as soon as I reach the goal. However, I’d like for it to stay so I can easily log subsequent instances. Just because I’ve already met my minimum quota doesn’t mean I want to stop logging or to not see how much I went over and beyond.

    Thank you!

Thanks for reaching out! That’s how I designed it originally, but I was surprised to get over 100 complaint emails about weekly/monthly habits still showing up on the Today view after the goal was achieved.

I’m working on something that should make this easier. In the meantime, you can always swipe to log any tracker from the Reports tab.

Best of luck with all your goals & habits!

  7. Allow me to compare recent trends with long-term averages

This keeps coming up, and you guys keep doing things that aim in the general direction, but I (and I suspect others) still have an unfulfilled use case. I have a tracker where I want to do 20 per day. I can see in the today view that over the 8-9 months I’ve been using Strides, my average is 17.9 per day, so obviously I need to step up my game a bit. What I want to know is: Over the last (week/month/couple months), have I been stepping up my game or not?

Because I’ve accumulated months of data, over-performing…

    Hi Brendan,

Thanks for reaching out! I totally understand, and this is a tricky problem to solve, mostly because the majority of the trackers are Habits (done or not).

I originally designed the Trends report to include data from each tracker type, but it became very confusing in the beta due to every tracker having different time periods and meanings. Plus, it slowed down the charts. So, I redesigned it to focus on whether you’ve moved something to Done or not, and it’s much clearer now.

As for not being able to move the average over such a long time, do you log this tracker once per day? If so, you could solve this in a different way: Rolling Average.

With Rolling Average, you can choose the number of logs to consider (e.g. the last 7 logs, or the last 30 logs) for the stats.

    That way, you will only…

  8. Include a setting to use the top circle to indicate unanswered habits

The circle at the top currently indicates how close to successful you were in achieving all of your habits. I would find it more valuable to me to know which days I did not answer all of my habit questions. Right now I have to tap through the prior days of the week to see if I missed something.

My habit tracking isn’t a zero-sum game. If I don’t complete all habits in a day, it’s fine. I do want to know I at least accounted for everything each day.

That’s interesting, thanks for the feedback. I don’t think we’ll add a setting to change the formula for the circle charts, but I’ll think through a way to show that some trackers were left in the Due section on past days.

  9. App Icon Badge on bad habit goals

A separate option for "App Icon Badge" to allow for not including bad habits. I.E. "Due Today minus bad habits" Alternatively, only include bad habits in the App Icon Badge after the log reminder time for that bad habit.

Currently, if you have a bad habit that you are logging daily it will cause the app icon badge to be displayed until the habit is logged. For bad habits, it would be nice if it was off until the log reminder time since bad habits are usually something you are trying not to do. So the icon badge is just…

  11. Option to have all trackers displayed on the Today tab

Even when I have met my target for a week I still need to log how I perform on the following days. At the moment I have to go into each tracker to do that. Ideally I would be able to display and easily log all active trackers (regardless of whether target met) on a version of the Today tab, as I think used to be the case, please. Otherwise App becomes very time consuming to use.

Thanks for reaching out! We’re planning to add a feature that will allow you to see everything on the Today view, even after its goal is met. In the meantime, rather than tapping a tracker, then its History tab, adding a log and going back twice, you can save time by swiping to log from the Reports tab. Best of luck with all your goals & habits!

  12. A Counter without goal value

I’d like to be able to track how many times I complete a habit in a day without making a specific goal of how many to achieve. This way I can feel good each time I mark it, while staying flexible to the time I have on that particular day

  13. An option for trackers to be counted toward the Progress bar

Some trackers do not need to be counted toward the progress % bar. Please include an option to toggle on or off for each tracker. It's okay to have it toggled on by default.

  14. Habit Folders

A folder to store habits. For example, I take multiple supplements and would like to be able to group a bunch of separate habits into the one folder. This would clear up the habit screen and also let me have a reminder for the "Supplements folder" whilst in the folder I could check off each one as I take it.

This would also allow the creation of routines that send one notification (for the folder) instead of getting 5 notifications etc at the same time for each different tracker that I want to accomplish in my routine.

    This also accomplishes…

  15. Siri Shortcut for Export

Currently, there's no mechanism to automatically export data from Strides via Siri shortcut. My workflow is to load up Strides, export the data, and share it to another Siri shortcut, but this is clunky and depends on me loading/being in strides. An "automated" export (that I could set a trigger for in IOS 14) or a Siri shortcut to trigger and share an export would be super helpful to me (I share my data with my accountability partner).

  16. Improve History view

Make it easier to see log history by removing empty rows for unlogged days, allow choosing/editing time stamps, show notes in-line, improve legibility and make it easier to add/delete logs.

  17. Windows App

    Windows people are people too!

If there is some technical barrier to this, could you let us know?

All I have is a cramped little iPhone. Seeing my progress and plans on a 24 inch monitor would be excellent.

Thanks for reaching out! We are a very small self-funded team and building a Windows app would be a very complex and expensive undertaking for us.

We spent years – and lost a lot of money – building a Web app, only to have very few people use it, so this isn’t likely something we’ll do any time soon. That said, it’s possible once we’ve built the top requests.

Best of luck with all your goals & habits!

  18. Data tracker with 2 data items

I’ve begun using Strides to record my BP and have resorted to entering it as 128.76 to get both parts of the BP reading. Allowing 2 data items would not only solve the BP issue, but several others: time and heart rate for a run or bike workout, time and pace for biking, weight and %fat, and I’m guessing many others. As a product manager myself, I understand why you want to keep trackers generic and multipurpose and why you rejected a specific BP tracker in the past: this idea satisfies both goals.
There may be other ways to satisfy…

  19. Tracker types: Make it easier to choose

Would love to have the option to edit the tracker type on an already created tracker OR to see an example of how the results would populate when you create a new item to track so you can decide how you really want to see the results without having to create multiple items with different tracker types just to see what it would look like.

Thanks for reaching out! Since the tracker types have different data types it’s not possible to change the type after the fact, but I totally agree that it should be easier to choose the type upfront. So, I designed a new way to do that with screenshots of the charts and goal/habit examples when choosing a type. We’ll add this later this year, after Progress Reports, iOS 14, etc.

    Thanks for the feedback!
    Kyle

  20. View Tasks Scheduled start times

Next to each task, it would be great to view the start times so the user has a full view of when each task should start. I find having a start time for all my tasks pushes me to get each task done on time knowing that I have another task with a start time. This also creates discipline throughout the days so everyday I do the marked tasks on time. For ex: 5am Workout (goal 1 hr), 6:20am Important Email follow-ups, 7am Research Articles & Drafting, 9am Team check-in, etc..
